Headlight Lens Restoration facts…

By dave

Tustin and Orange County California’s authority for on-site Headlight Lens Restoration

Welcome and thank you for visiting my web blog dedicated to Headlight Lens Restoral. Now for the facts as to why this is happening to your vehicles headlights and how my service can restore them guaranteed!

Old school headlight lenses were composed of glass, today’s headlight lenses are constructed of “Poly carbonates” which are a particular group of thermoplastic polymers. This material is easily worked, molded, and thermo-formed; as such, these plastics are very widely used in the modern automotive industry. Polycarbonate is extremely strong, and has a high-impact and low-scratch resistance as well as high-transparency to visible light.

While polycarbonate headlights help reduce vehicle weight and withstand impact, oxidation and sunlight can dull the surface, turn it yellow or leave it cloudy and scratched. This means the light from the headlights is diffused and not focused correctly on the roadway, which limits visibility in the dark and in bad weather conditions. Not only can the driver of the vehicle not see the roadway, the vehicle also is also less visible to other cars. With the average age of vehicles on U.S. streets today approximately 10 years, the safety problem is growing.

Rain, snow, ice, fog and blizzard conditions can diminish visibility on the road and increase the everyday dangers of driving. Hazed or cloudy plastic headlights can reduce this visibility even further, making it very difficult to see not only in inclement weather but also on a clear night.

My 6-step headlight lens restoral service can 100% correct your impaired headlights and save you $$ hundreds of dollars. The average replacement light can cost anywhere between $400 – $1500 per lens, you do the math…give me a call today!

2005 Porsche 997 Carrera East Coast transplant gets it’s vision corrected

By dave

Here are the results of a recent project I did on a 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera. This East Coast transplanted Porsche suffered from “Yellowing & Hazing” of the headlight lenses. Now driving the streets in So Cal, the owner was tired of the ugly appearance of his vehicles progressively failing lenses.

This service is one of the 3 options my customers have when it comes to headlight lens restorations.

1999 Jeep Cherokee gets her lights restored

By dave

Actual review from customer on Yelp…http://www.yelp.com/biz/innovative-detailing-tustin

My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee had severe hazing/cloudiness on the front headlights, and the Tustin Jeep dealer quoted $370 to replace each headlight plus labor. They said they could also do headlight restoration but said depending on the severity of the haze the results might just be 50% to 75% of original clarity. I checked around on the Internet just to get more info on headlight restoration and found Innovative Detailing. Dave the owner told me he could restore to 95% to 99% clarity and gave an excellent price quote as well. Plus he could do the work at my location in Irvine, so I arranged to have Innovative Detailing do the headlight restoration instead of the dealer. He arrived promptly, worked fast and the results were AMAZING, like brand new headlights. I had not seen such clear headlights on my 99 Jeep since it was new. I actually was skeptical before the work started that the restoration would make a difference but I was a believer after Dave got done. Great work and excellent prices = great value.

Headlight Lens Restoral on this older cat by Innovative Detailing

By dave

Headlight Lens Restoral performed correctly by Innovative Detailing on a 2000 Jaguar S Type. This cat was going blind from yellowed, hazed and dull lights resulting in poor night visibility, safety issue and ugly asthetic appearance. Options are replaceing which can cost lots of money when restoral is a fraction of the cost.
